How to Convert and Play AVI Video Files on Google Nexus 10

What is Google Nexus 10?

The Google Nexus 10 is a tablet PC developed by Google and Samsung Electronics. Following the success of the 7-inch Nexus 7—the first Google Nexus tablet—the Nexus 10 was released with a 10.1-inch, 2560×1600 pixel display, which in 2012 was the world’s highest resolution tablet display. The device is available in two storage sizes, 16 GB for US$399 and 32 GB for US$499. Also, the Google Nexus 10 launched version 4.2 (“Jelly Bean”) of Android, which offers multiple stunning features: 360° panoramic photo stitching called “Photo Sphere”; a quick settings menu; widgets on the lock screen; gesture typing; an updated version of Google Now; and multiple user accounts for tablets.

What is AVI?

AVI stands for Audio Video Interleave. Files of this format have .avi extension. Being developed by Microsoft in 1992, it has become so wide spread that many people consider it de facto standard for storing video and audio information on PC. AVI combines audio and video into a single file in a standard container to allow simultaneous playback. It’s advantage is it’s simple architecture, due to which AVI runs on a number of different systems like Windows, Mac’s, Linux, Unix and is supported by all most popular web-browsers.

Why we need to convert AVI to Nexus 10?

It is well-known that Google Nexus 10 possesses 10.055-inch (255.4 mm) diagonal PLS-backlit LCD capacitive touch screen with 16:10 aspect ratio; 2560×1600 pixels WQXGA (300 ppi) with 16M colors, Scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 2; Graphics Mali T-604, so it is ideal to watch HD videos thereon.
