Want to make a backup copy of your favorite DVD movie and keep the original quality? It is simple if the disk is single-layered, the only thing you have to do is to buy a DVD-R disc and make a copy. But what if the DVD is double-layered? The ideal solution is to copy the DVD to a double-layered DVD-R, but it impossible for those old DVD recorder owners. Of course, there are always other options to finish the task.
The best way is to compress the double-layered DVD to a single-layered disc or split to two single-layered discs. It will take an additional program: CloneDVD – to split the movie on two disks, or shrink the movie to a disk without loss, and also decrypt DVD movies through bypassing copy protections. Also this DVD decrypting software is able to burn recordable DVDs.
First, free download the DVD decrypter and install it on a windows computer. Then, let’s get started.
1. Decrypt The Movie to Hard Disk
1.1 Run the DVD decrypter and insert the DVD you want to backup into the DVD drive.
1.2 Set the same DVD±RW as target.
1.3 Choose copy as DVD, and select DVD size – 4.7 GB (DVD-5).
1.4 Choose a copy mode. “Split” – split the movie on two single-layered discs. Or choose any one from “Entire disc”, “Main movie”, “Customize” to shrink the movie to a single-layered disc.
1.5 Start to copy the movie to temporary hard disk folder first.
The DVD decrypter can automatically decrypt DVD movies by removing all protections, like CSS, CPPM, RC, RCE, APS, UOPs, ARccOS, RipGuard, etc, without your notice.
2. Clone DVD Movie to Blank Single-layered Disc(s)
2.1 Eject the original DVD disc and insert a blank DVD disc, then cancel autoplay and press “OK”, CloneDVD will begin to burn DVD.
2.2 Eject the first disk and insert a second one if you choose “Split”.
