Apple has filed yet another complaint with the U.S. ITC, this time alleging more patent infringement from Taiwanese-based smartphone/tablet maker HTC. Apple initially filed a complaint towards HTC last March, claiming they were infringing on twenty patents. HTC then counter-sued Apple, asking the ITC to halt all imports of iOS devices due to alleged patent infringement on 5 of HTC’s own patents.
HTC is dismayed that Apple has resorted to competition in the courts rather than the market place.
Apple says it will fight all the past and present claims and defend their own patents.
Apple sold 17 million iPhones last quarter while HTC sold 9.8 million smartphones.
