According to The Verge, Nokia has announced the first program since Microsoft acquired its phone unit – an Android launcher named “Z Launcher”. Of course, you can also recognize “Z Launcher” as a custom home screen. Similar to other many third party Launchers, its product design philosophy is to allow users to access to all content on their phone in the fastest way. If you still remember the Cover, acquired by Twitter, it is not hard for you to understand the meaning of the “Z Launcher”.
“Z Launcher” redesigned the Android home screen, and will display relevant application shortcuts through up and down arranging rather than the previous Style Box static application icon. What show above the screen are the upcoming date and calendar events while the regular applications have no position change and will also displayed at the end of the screen.
In addition, the “Z Launcher” will continue to learn to adjust users habits to make corresponding changes in the ranking pattern, if course it will include changing home page content according to the different time period in each day. For the applications not listed on the screen, the “Z Launcher” also supports type characters recognition based on “sliding screen”. For example when you write a letter on the screen, applications like Spotify, Skype and SoundHound will collective appeared in front of you. If you need car service, writing a letter “U” on the screen, UBER App will soon appeared.
At present, the “Z Launcher” is still in the “pre – beta” stage, but later it will gradually begin to expand outward.
